FAQs

  • What is a Well Persons Health Screen?

The Well Persons Health Screen is a comprehensive preventive health check-up designed to assess your overall health and detect any potential health issues at an early stage.

  • What does the health screen include?

The health screen includes a 30-minute consultation with a General Practitioner (GP) and a 30-minute consultation with a nurse or HCA. In addition, it involves measurements of height, weight, blood pressure, and pulse. The following tests will also be conducted: ECG (electrocardiogram), full blood count (FBC), liver function tests (LFT), urinalysis (UA), Vitamin D levels, urea and electrolytes (U/E), glucose levels, HbA1c (glycated haemoglobin) levels, lipid profile, cholesterol levels, PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) for men, a stool sample for colon cancer screening, breast examination for women, gynaecological examination for women, testicular examination for men, and a prostate examination for men.

  • Why should I get a Well Persons Health Screen?

Regular health screens can help detect potential health issues early on when they are most treatable. It allows healthcare professionals to provide personalised advice to improve your well-being and reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases.

  • How long does the health screen take?

The entire health screen process, including the consultations and tests, typically takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

  • Do I need to fast before the health screen?

Yes, fasting is not required before the blood tests.

  • Will the health screen be painful or uncomfortable?

Most of the tests are non-invasive and painless. Blood tests and physical examinations may cause minimal discomfort, but our healthcare professionals will ensure you are as comfortable as possible throughout the process.

  • When will I receive my test results?

The time to receive test results may vary depending on the specific tests conducted. Our staff will inform you of the expected timeframe during your health screen visit and the GP will arrange to call you with your results within a few days of your Health Screen.

  • What should I do to prepare for the health screen?

Wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access for physical examinations. Avoid wearing clothing with metal components near the chest area, as they can interfere with the ECG signals. Stay hydrated before the blood tests, as it can make it easier for the healthcare professional to draw blood. It is also helpful to bring any relevant medical history or records which we do not have access to.
