Dr Shashi's Hormone & Menopause Clinic

Dr Shashi is a GP, BMS accredited Advanced Menopause Specialist and Women’s Integrative and Functional Medicine Doctor. She believes in patient-centred personalised care and is very experienced in providing treatment for various hormonal issues.


Perimenopause & Menopause

Perimenopause and Menopause can present with a wide range of symptoms and can be very confusing. It can have an immense impact on a woman’s life, work, relationships, or the way they see themselves. Dr Shashi is very experienced in providing the following:

Thyroid Disorders (Underactive Thyroid)

Optimal functioning of thyroid gland is vital for our metabolism, health of our heart and brain, weight and many others. Dr Shashi has a functional approach towards thyroid health and is skilled in proving treatments like Levothyroxine, Liothyronine (T3), and Natural Desiccated Thyroid (e.g. Armour thyroid).


Adrenal Dysregulation (Cortisol Imbalances)

Cortisol hormone plays a key role in stress management, immunity, inflammation, weight, metabolic & brain health. We live in a constant state of chronic stress, and this has a huge impact on our cortisol levels and our long-term health. Dr Shashi can work with you help rebalance your cortisol.

Up to 45 minutes with Dr Prasad to discuss you concerns and develop a treatment plan together.

Follow-up Consultation: £140

Up to 20 minutes with Dr Prasad to review your progress and adjust your treatment plan if necessary.

Pre/Ante/Post Natal-Care

Pre-Natal Care

If you would like to have an in-depth discussion with a GP about conceiving and pre-conception care The Private GP Group offers a bespoke package, which includes a 30 minute appointment with a GP, blood tests, ultrasound scan, to help support patients and offer them the best possible advice.

Ante-Natal Care

We offer first, second and third trimester health checks for expectant patients. These include a physical examination, lifestyle and wellbeing advice and an ultrasound scan. The GP will check foetal growth and check for a heartbeat, offering you support throughout your pregnancy.

Post-Natal Care

Pregnancy and birth can lead to changes in your body and wellbeing. Our post-natal assessment allows you time to discuss these changes and seek guidance and support. Consultations include a full physical assessment, including pelvic floor checks, as well as nutritional and exercise advice.

HPV & Cervical Screening

The screening is used to check for HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). HPV is a very common virus that can lead to issues such as genital warts or cervical cancer. 

If you were to test positive for HPV your sample would be sent on for further testing to look for the presence of abnormal cells.

We offer the HPV vaccine Gardasil 9 at our practices; Gardasil 9 provides protection against 9 different types of HPV which are responsible for causing 90% of cervical cancers. The vaccine is administered in 1-3 doses over 6 months, depending on age.

Contraceptive Advice & Fitting

Contraceptive Implant

The contraceptive implant is a small, flexible rod which contains a progestogen hormone which provides contraception without having to take a daily pill. The implant is placed on the inside of your upper arm and remains effective for 3 threes.

Fitting: £250 (includes cost of implant)

Removal: £150

Contraceptive Coil
The contraceptive coil or an intrauterine device (IUD) is a small device which sits inside the uterus which releases copper into the womb and is 99% effective it stopping pregnancy when inserted correctly. Most IUDs work for 5-10 years. 
 
There is also the intrauterine system (IUS) which releases the hormones, instead of copper, into the womb. It is also 99% effective and will last between 3-5 years depending on the brand used.
 

Fitting: £200 + cost of coil (costs differ depending on the type/brand of IUD/IUS)

  • Mirena IUS – £135
  • Kyleena IUS – £120
  • Jaydess IUS – £110
  • Copper IUD – £50 (any brand)
